OOn Friday, November 10, 2017, The BSMC Orlando particpated in a Veterans Day Program hosted by Sumter Prep School in Wildwood, Florida. We were invited by John Denham, a
retired Airforce Veteran
on behalf of Pamela Johnson, retired Coast Guard Veteran and event
coordinator for the program.
The Principle, Mr. James Pressley opened the program with a Pledge of
Allegiance and a Prayer, this set the tone for a very interactive and rewarding Veterans Day Program.
Pamela Johnson, recognized two of her Scholars and allowed them to
speak, Omari Johnson spoke about the time when he was a somewhat troubled student and how his
life changed after spending time in the programs offered by Sumter
Prep School.
John Denham, spoke about his time in the U.S. Airforce (Twenty Four
years of service)
Flying Eagle, of the Buffalo Soldiers, toughed on the history of the
Buffalo Soldiers, and how the name "Buffalo soldier" came to be.
DJ-Man, Honcho, Captain, and Highmaintenance, each delivered
compelling, inspiring, and Motivating speeches that touched both
the Students and Faculty in a mighty positive way.
The Students and Faculty, were given a tour of our bikes and allowed
to take pictures, afterwards we enjoyed great fellowship with the
Principle and Faculty over coffee and donuts. It was a wonderful day
!!!
